WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary swimming teams return to action at the West Virginia Invitational in Morgantown, W.Va. this weekend. The three-day meet will take place from Thursday to Saturday at the Mylan Park Aquatic Center.
Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. with finals events to follow at 6 p.m. each day. Fans can view live results on SwimCloud.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tribe swept George Mason at the Rec Center on Nov. 8, with the women winning 211-50 and the men victorious by a 171-91 final.
The Green & Gold had 24 event victories. W&M won both the men's and women's 200 medley relay. The women posted a time of 1:40.12 behind
Julie Addison,
Lindsay Juhlin,
Lauren Klinefelter, and
Caroline Burgeson, which was fifth-fastest in school history. The men clocked in at 1:29.02 with
Leo O'Keefe,
Brock Rempe,
Alex Valliere, and
Aiden Bond leading the way.
In distance events,
Lauren Tucker took the women's 1000 free with a time of 10:06.81, which stands fourth-fastest all-time.
LEAGUE RECOGNITION
Lindsay Juhlin was named the CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week for Nov. 11 after a trio of record-setting performances against George Mason.
Juhlin set a pool and W&M dual meet record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.80, which ranks tops in the CAA this season. She was also part of the pool-record 200 medley relay team.
In the 200 breast, the Washington, D.C. native posted a winning time of 2:15.90, giving her three event victories for the afternoon. Her 200 breast time ranks second in the conference.
STARTING OFF
- So far this year, William & Mary has broken six dual meet records and eight pool records.
- Lauren Tucker owns the fastest time in the CAA in the 1000 free at 10:06.81.
- Julie Addison leads the conference in the 50 back (25.18) and 100 back (54.15).
- Other CAA leaders include Sophia Heilen in the 200 breast (2:15.56) and 200 fly (2:01.22), along with Juhlin in the 50 breast (28.94) and 100 breast (1:00.84).
MEET HISTORY
W&M has competed in the WVU Invitational every year since 2021. Last year, the Tribe had 10 event winners and nearly 30 top-16 all-time performances, highlighted by
Claire Neilly's school-record performance in the 400 IM. The women's team finished with the highest combined team score at the meet, totaling 1853 points.
