RALEIGH, N.C.—The William & Mary track program sent 12 student-athletes to the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, on Thursday and Friday.
The W&M performances were highlighted by
Hayes Trapp setting the program's freshman record in the 10k. Trapp was able to clock in at 29:56.32 to grasp the best freshman mark ever. He broke the record of Keith Bechtol by less than four seconds. Bechtol's record stood for 20 years.
Arianna DeBoer also made her mark in the W&M record books in Friday night's women's 10k. DeBoer finished in 11
thout of 60 with a time of 34:06.98. She now sits fifth in all-time Tribe performers for the event.
Samuel Pritchard was the top Tribe finisher at the 1,500m with a time of 3:49.45.
For the women's side
Kyra Holland represented W&M by posting a time of 4:29.84 in the 1,500m, while
Catherine Garrison completed the steeplechase in 10:48.71.
The Tribe is back in action on Saturday, March 30, at the Blue & Silver Challenge. The event starts at 11:45 a.m. with field events.
