RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary sophomore
Hedda Gurholt was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday. Gurholt becomes the first player, men's or women's, to earn the CAA distinction on three occasions this season.
In total, Gurholt took home the Tribe's seventh weekly award this season and it was her fourth career player of the week nod.
Gurholt won her sixth match in a row and moved to 5-0 in CAA play with a three-set win over Sibel Tanik in the Tribe's 6-1 victory over Elon. After dropping the first set, 7-5, the Tribe sophomore dominated the final two sets, 6-2, 6-1. Gurholt ran her singles mark to 17-7 overall and 12-3 at the top spot.
Gurholt and the Tribe wrap up the regular season at Richmond on Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m.
