WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team equaled its best score of the season en route to placing first in the opening session, and fifth overall, at the Gymnastics East Conference Championship at Kaplan Arena on Saturday.
Penn claimed the team title with a 194.925 and was followed by Yale (194.200), West Chester (194.075), Brown (193.750), W&M (193.050), Cornell (193.000), Bridgeport (192.800) and Southern Connecticut State (192.525).
Grace Costello highlighted the Tribe's individual performances and earned second-team all-conference honors on bars, tying for fifth with a career-high 9.800.
Emma Wiley narrowly missed out on all-conference distinction on vault, as she tied for seventh with a 9.700.
Sarah Kuper was W&M's top performer on beam (9.650), while
Hannah Burke and
Michelle Ngo earned the Tribe's best score on floor (9.800).
In addition to equaling its best team score of the season, W&M earned a season high on bars (48.675).
