WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's swim team (4-0, 2-0 CAA) earned their fourth-consecutive victory of the season to remain undefeated, taking down previously-undefeated Loyola Maryland (4-1, 4-0 Patriot League) with a final score of 185-77 on Saturday afternoon.
The women earned 13 wins over 14 events for the second meet in a row, marking their fourth meet with 11 wins or more, setting a pair of pool records.
The Tribe men's team (1-3, 0-2 CAA) fell to the Greyhounds (5-0, 4-0 Patriot League) 190-71, securing 15 podium finishes in the meet, as
Thor Dyke earned his third 1,000 free victory in as many attempts.
Dyke,
Aiden Bond,
Gavin Lamoureux and
David Yune each earned a pair of podium finishes, and the men's relay teams combined for three.
Ellie Scherer set a pool and dual-meet Record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.23 to replace a decades-old pool record set in 2009.
Lindsay Juhlin's 54.96 time was good for a pool record in the 100 fly, replacing teammate
Sophia Heilen's pool-record time of 55.18 from the Tribe's last meet at home against Towson.
In seven events, the Tribe women took the top two spots. To open the meet, the women's medley relay team of
Kat Vanbourgondien, Scherer,
Lauren Klinefelter and
Sydney Querner earned a win with a 1:44.27 finish and the team of
Caroline Burgeson, Heilen,
Clara Bodnar and
Flynn Truskett clocked in at 1:46.24 for a third-place finish.
Kelsey Katt earned a win in the 1,000 free for the women, finishing in 10:25.21, nearly four seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
As the only Tribe swimmer in the event, Dyke topped four Greyhounds to take the win in the 1000 free on the men's side in 9:36.45.
Sophia Heilen earned three individual wins, clocking in at 2:02.85 in the 200 fly, 2:17.47 in the 200 breast and finishing the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.89.
Lauren Tucker also earned multiple first place finishes, taking the win in the 200 free with a 1:52.81 time and posting a 4:59.21 finish in the 500 free. Tucker also landed on the podium with a 2:07.96 finish in the 200 IM.
In the men's 100 fly, senior duo
Kent Codding and Lamoureux earned second and third place with 50.81 and 50.83 times, respectively.
Lamoureux also finished on the podium for the Tribe men in the 200 fly, clocking in at 1:52.79, only two-tenths of a second back from the first-place time.
Vanbourgondien earned an individual win to go along with the women's 200 medley relay finish, securing a victory in the 100 back with a 56.25 time. In the women's 100 free, freshman
Sarah Dunham's 52.21 finish was good for first place and Burgeson paces the women's 50 free with a 23.86 time.

The Tribe will travel to the West Virginia Invitational to compete Nov. 16-18 and then will swim in the Toyota US Open in Greensboro, N.C., on Nov. 29-Dec. 3 to close out the 2023 calendar year.
After a pair of dual meets on the road to kick off 2024, W&M swimming will be back home at Bee McLeod Rec Center at 12 p.m. on Jan. 27 to take on Georgetown.
