WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — No. 16 William & Mary field hockey continues its challenging schedule with a pair of nationally-ranked matches this weekend. The Tribe travels to former CAA rival and No. 25-ranked James Madison on Friday for a 6 p.m., before hosting No. 11 UConn on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Busch Field.
The JMU-W&M match-up will be streamed on ESPN+, while the Tribe's home contest with the Huskies will be broadcast on FloLive.
The Tribe ran its win streak to three matches with two victories last week over Davidson and then-No. 16 Duke. It was the program's
first win over the Blue Devils since 2001 and its third over a national top-20 foe this season. Senior
Lauren Curran scored three goals over the weekend, including the game-winner over Davidson, and
was named the CAA Player of the Week. For the second time this season, junior
Allison Goodwin scored the game winner against a nationally opponent with her tally off a penalty corner in the third quarter against Duke.
The Tribe
rose five spots in the national rankings to No. 16, the program's highest since 2004.
