George Davis and Harrison Brown Named to the All-CAA First Team

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary men's tennis graduate student Harrison Brown and junior George Davis earned All-CAA First Team honors in both singles and doubles, the league announced on Tuesday.

Davis earned All-CAA honors for the second-straight season in both capacities, while Brown garnered the distinction in his lone season with the Green and Gold. Last season, Davis was an All-CAA First Team pick in doubles along with earning second-team distinction in singles.

The duo is also among just three players in the league to earn first team honors in both singles and doubles. It marks the first time since 2010 that W&M had a pair of teammates earn All-CAA First Team honors in both singles and doubles.

Davis racked up nine singles wins on the year, including five at the top post. As part of his win total, Davis topped fellow first-teamer Kyle Frankel of Elon in the Tribe's win over the Phoenix during the regular season. Davis was also named the CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 9 after the Tribe posted back-to-back 7-0 wins over Longwood and Elon.

Brown led W&M with an 18-6 singles record, including an impressive 11-5 dual-match mark. He notched two wins at No. 1 and nine at No. 2.  Brown was named CAA Player of the Week on March 2 after W&M wins over Brown and JMU. In the Tribe's home finale, he knocked off UTSA's Joao Ceolin, who is ranked No. 71 nationally.

Combined, Brown and Davis were a formidable pair in doubles competition. The tandem posted a 17-6 overall mark, including an 11-5 record at No. 1. They reeled off eight-straight wins at one point in dual-match competition, including a perfect 3-0 ledger vs. CAA foes during the regular season. Brown and Davis were twice been named CAA Doubles Team of the Week following Tribe wins over UAB and Radford.

As a team, the Tribe earned a national ranking for the second-straight season on March 16. W&M finished the season at 10-8 overall and earned the top seed in the CAA Championship before falling to host Elon in the semifinals.
