WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — After excelling on the court and in the classroom, William & Mary men's tennis standouts Nikita Bortnichek and Albert Hansen were selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The duo helped William & Mary to a 10–13 overall record during the 2025-26 season, including a historic run to the Coastal Athletic Association Championship semifinals after becoming the first No. 6 seed in tournament history to defeat a No. 3 seed with a 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Campbell.
Bortnichek, a junior economics major, earned the honor after tying for second on the team with 12 singles victories, including nine dual-match wins while playing primarily at No. 3 singles. He closed the season on a six-match singles winning streak and clinched the Tribe's historic CAA Championship quarterfinal victory over Campbell with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles. He earned All-CAA Third Team Singles honors and received William & Mary's Provost Award.
