Box Score RICHMOND, VA.- William & Mary cashed in on a trio of big innings to win a back and forth game at VCU Tuesday night. The Tribe scored three in the second, three in the fourth, and five in the ninth in a 11-6 win.

Justin Pearson was strong out of the pen tossing 1.1 innings of hitless, scoreless baseball and
Carter Lovasz picked up his second win throwing the final three frames.
Joe Delossantos had three hits and
Tyler Solomon added two as both men also scored twice.

The Rams got on the board early taking advantage of a couple of one-out free passes and a double to score a run. With two outs and the bases loaded a balk would plate another runner to make it 2-0.Â

William & Mary immediately answered as
Jack Cone led off the second ripping a triple off the wall in right center. Solomon would walk and Delossantos would scorch a double down the left field line to score Cone. Solomon scored as
Mark Trotta hit a sac fly to deep left and Delossantos would later come around to score on a wild pitch in the three-run frame.Â

VCU utilized a two-out rally to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the second. The Rams drew a walk and the man would come around to score on a bloop double down the right field line. The Tribe threatened in the top of the third, but could not plate a run, and an unearned run would come across for the Rams to give VCU a 4-3 advantage in the bottom half.Â

The Tribe would take back the lead in the fourth as
Adam Quintero led off the inning with a double to left and would score on
Matt Thomas' single up the middle.
Ben Williamson would be hit by a pitch and
Cole Ragone followed with a single to plate Thomas with Williamson moving to third. Cone would lift a deep drive to right resulting in a sac fly to make it 6-4 William & Mary.Â

VCU would get men on second and third with no outs in the fifth inning.
Matt Howat would get a grounder to third for the first out before the Rams scored on a sac fly to make the game 6-5.
Justin Pearson would come on to induce an inning ending grounder, limiting the damage.Â

Pearson and Lovasz would combine to keep VCU off the board in the sixth and the seventh. The Rams were able to utilize a walk, a hit, and a fielder's choice to score a run tying the game in the eighth.Â

In the Tribe's half of the ninth, Solomon and Delossantos would reach on back to back one-out singles. The pair would both score on a VCU error on what could have been a fielder's choice off the bat of Trotta.Â

The Tribe would then get a boost from a pair of defensive replacements as
Phil Conti lifted a single into center and stole second.
Nate Goranson would lift a 1-1 pitch deep to left for a double that one-hopped the wall scoring a pair making it 10-6 Tribe. A Ragone fielder's choice would bring in Goranson after walks to Thomas and Williamson.Â

Lovasz retired the side with no damage done in the ninth as the Tribe shut the door on the Rams for the 11-6 win.
