BOSTON, Mass. - The William & Mary women's track & field team finished strong Saturday after the first day of competition at the ECAC Championships, setting personal bests. With five events scored, the Green & Gold is tied for 15th overall with five points, while Connecticut leads the 21-team field with 37 points.

Long Jump
Kicking it off for the Tribe sophomore
Megan Heidebrecht placed fourth overall in the long jump with 5.73m and freshman
Chelsea Mitchell placed 16th at 5.31m.
1 Mile
Freshman
Arianna DeBoer made her EACA Championship debut after placing 10th in prelims at 4:53.43. Just seconds shy of the freshman school record DeBoer will advance to her first ECAC final.
400 Dash
Over in the 400-meter dash sophomore, Mary Gregory placed tenth at 55.70, earning her a spot in the ECAC finals. Gregory now stands as the fifth-fastest in school history.
500 Dash
Sophomore
Grace Bir secured her spot in ECAC finals after placing eighth overall with a personal best at 1:15.13.
4x400 Relay
The Tribe rounded off the day in the 4x400, where the team of
Carly Swierbut,
Grace Bir, Mary Gregory, and
Makenzie Joiner combined to run 3:47.74. As now the eighth fastest time in school history, the Tribe is set to compete in the ECAC Finals.
