BOSTON, Mass. – The William & Mary men's track & field got off to a strong start Friday at the IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston. In the heptathlon, Layton finished day one in fifth overall with 2,519 points. The two-day heptathlon event was the only men's event for the Tribe Friday and will continue Saturday.
How It Happened:
- Freshman Cole Harris made his first IC4A appearance Friday standing ninth overall with 2,373 points. Kicking it off in the 60m Dash Harris placed 10th at 7.68 and then placed eighth in the long jump at 5.94m. In Shot Put Harris placed seventh with 10.08m and rounded off the day with his best finish in high jump, tying for third overall at 1.83m.

- Red-shirt sophomore, Daniel Layton made his second appearance at the IC4A Championships, Friday. Layton started out with 7.38 in the 60m dash and bested his record from last year. Over in the long jump, Layton finished seventh overall at 5.97m. In the shot put Layton placed second overall with a collegiate-best at 12.47m. Layton rounded out the day with high jump placing seventh at 1.71m.
NEXT UP:Â The Tribe continues action on Saturday at the IC4A Championships is set for 10 a.m., and continues all day.
