WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – This is becoming a habit.
Competing in his third straight NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Chris Arias will get things started for the tribe in the javelin throw at the East First Round on Wednesday afternoon. Arias is joined at the prelims this year by Liv Cantby (javelin), Catherine Garrison (3,000m steeplechase) and the 4x400 relay squad of Amaya Johnson, Lizzy Gregory, Carly Swierbut, and Emily Ervin. This season's event will be held at the University of North Florida, with Arias set to begin competition at 1:30 p.m.
Last year Arias ranked 27th overall in the event, recording a mark of 63.91m (209-8). Arias' top throw this season came at the High Point Meet of Champions at 65.67m (215-2).

The top-12 competitors from each individual event and the top-12 teams from each relay event advance from the preliminary meets to the NCAA Finals in Austin, Texas. That event will be held from Wednesday, June 7 – Saturday, June 10, with the list of qualifiers to be announced by 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 28. The final list of the championship participants will be announced by 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 30.
