Cundiff Ties for 18th At NCAA Championships

ATLANTA, GA. - Missy Cundiff capped off her memorable senior season with a 22.05 time in the 50 Free Prelims of the NCAA Championships Thursday morning. The time was tied for the 18th fastest in the meet, earning her a second alternate position and it was the second fastest swim in her incredible career.

Cundiff entered the meet seeded 25th, but out-performed her ranking moving up seven spots. The 22.05 time is second to only her CAA record breaking 21.98 mark this November at the West Virginia Invitational. Her time Thursday afternoon was a full 21 tenths of a second faster than Cundiff's record setting time to win gold at the CAA Championships in February.

Cundiff's 18th place finish is the best finish by a Tribe women's swimmer in program history. The Leesburg native now owns the top four 50 Free times in school history.
