TOWSON, Md. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team earned its best score of the season on beam but placed third at a tri-meet hosted by Towson on Wednesday evening.
The host Tigers claimed the team title with a 196.225 and were followed by George Washington (194.750) and W&M (189.675).
Freshman
Sarah Kuper led the Tribe's individual performances by winning the all-around title with a career-high 37.800, while she and classmate
Sarah Wozniak tied for fifth on bars (9.750).
Event Highlights
Vault, 47.575 – Freshman
Catherine Bare led W&M on vault with a 9.650, while classmate
Caroline Blatchford placed second on the squad with a 9.575.
Bars, 47.325 – Kuper and Wozniak's fifth-place finishes highlighted the Tribe's individual performances on bars, as their scores of 9.750 were career highs for both gymnasts.
Beam, 47.800 – Led by senior
Chloe Campbell and junior
Keaghan Schafer, W&M posted its best team score of the season on beam. Both Campbell and Schafer equaled career highs in the event with a 9.700.
Floor, 46.975 – Schafer also led the way on floor and posted a career-best 9.775.
All-Around – Kuper won the all-around title with a career-high 37.800, while Blatchford also competed in all four events and totaled a 37.050.
