Morgantown, WV.- Sophia Heilen once again impressed as the freshman shattered a pair of records Friday at the West Virginia Invitational. Heilen broke the Tribe all-time record for the 100 fly and followed by besting the all-time freshman mark in the 100 breaststroke.
The three-day meet will conclude tomorrow as the prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals are set for a 5:00 p.m. start.
FULL RESULTS
100 Fly
Sophia Heilen continued her dominant freshman season smashing the William & Mary record in the 100 fly with a time of 53.09, which is an NCAA B Qualifying time.
Lauren Klinefelter had the seventh fastest time at 55.42.
Erin Langenburg dropped 2.74 seconds off her entry time to swim a 56.43, while
Lindsay Juhlin (3.07) and
Maura Graff (2.98) each enjoyed large time drops in the morning session.
Elizabeth Kuhlkin had the largest drop, swimming 3.36 seconds faster than her entry.
Gavin Lamoureux and
Kent Codding finished 10th and 11th in prelims with times of 49.67 and 49.73.
Ashton Temme also finished in the top 20 with a 50.44 time in the morning.
FINAL
Heilen would take first place in the fly with a 53.03 mark and Klinefelter would finish fourth with a 54.96 mark. Graff improved by a full second in the finals and Juhlin and Langenburg each dropped times to finish 14th and 15th. Codding would finish ninth with a 49.15 time and Lamoureux came in 13th, while Temme and O'Hara also finished in the top-20.

Grace Tramack had the top time among the Tribe competitors in the morning session with a 4:25.55.
Ellie Scherer dropped a full 24 seconds off her entry time to swim an impressive 4:25.58 in the prelims,
Devin Genderson and
Kim Jogis also produced top-15 times .
Taylor Stockard swam 15 seconds faster than her previous mark for a time of 4:33.34. Noah Fields swam a 4:03.82, good for eighth in the prelims, while Connor Sokolowsky was just behind with a 4:04.71 Freshman
Bryce Rouzie dropped 16.84 seconds for a 4:09.92 prelim time and Colby Mills dropped over 14 seconds for a 4:12.49 mark.
FINAL
Scherer and Tramack finished fifth and sixth, while Genderson and Jogis both had significant time drops to finish 10th and 11th in the final. Stockard would place 13th overall. For the men, Fields dropped over five seconds to finish fourth with a time of 3:58.75 and Sokolowsky dropped almost four seconds to finish ninth. Rouzie placed 14th and Mills finished 18th.
200 Free
Katie Stevenson continued her strong weekend with a time of 1:47.89 in the prelims.
Elizabeth Intihar cut over three seconds off her time for a 1:50.90 mark, while
Julie Anderson swam a 1:51.71, over five seconds better than her entry time.
Eugenio Massari was the fastest of the Tribe men in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.17, shaving 2.67 off of his entry time, while
Will Glass had the biggest time drop with a 1:43.37, cutting over five seconds off his previous time.
FINAL
Stevenson placed second and Intihar dropped a full second for a sixth place time of 1:49.88.
Julie Anderson provided a 14th place time. Massari placed 24th overall and
Will Glass finished 29th.
100 Breaststroke
Sophia Heilen continued to impress by breaking the William & Mary freshman record with a time of 1:02.50 and
Annie Tuttle finished top eight with a 1:03.16 time.
Brooke Lamoureux swam a personal best 1:04.93 dropping 3.80 off her time in the 100 breaststroke and Linsay Juhlin finished just behind with a 1:05.10.
Peyton Proffitt dropped nearly a full four seconds off her entry time to finish with a 1:05.84. For the men,
Brock Rempe had the top time for the Tribe with a mark of 55.52 and Kyle Demers dusted 1.56 seconds off for a 55.83.
FINAL
Heilen bettered her morning time with a 1:02.43 time in the final to finish fourth and Tuttle was right behind finishing fifth. Juhlin dropped over a full second to finish just ahead of Lamoureux in 17th and 18th place. Demers was the fastest Tribe man with a 55.36 time for sixth, while Rempe came in seventh with a 55.54 mark.
100 Backstroke
Kat Vanbourgondien swam a 56.13, 1.37 seconds faster than her entry time to place sixth in the prelims, while
Caroline Burgeson dropped 1.82 seconds with a 56.60 time.
Erin Langenburg placed 18th with a drop of 2.88 seconds. Codding swam a 49.93 to drop 3.16 seconds off his entry, while
Cole Younger took 3.51 seconds off with a 50.17 morning swim.
Micah Lowe (50.53) and Rouzie (51.51) each placed in the top-15 in prelims.
FINAL
Vanbourgondien improved on her morning swim to place eighth and Burgeson dropped another full second to finish ninth with a time of 55.45. Codding and Younger both dropped time to finish fourth and sixth respectively, while Tingley and Lowe came in seventh and ninth.
200 medley relay (Finals only)
The team of Vanbourgondien, Tuttle, Heilen, and Stevenson produced a 1:43.27 time to come in sixth place, while Burgeson, Lamoureux, Klinefelter, and Querner knocked 3.60 off their entry time to place sixth with a 1:43.40 time. William & Mary's men quartet of Tingley, Rempe, O'Hara, and Valliere finished third with a 1:30.16 time, just ahead of Younger, Demers, Lamoureux, and Massari.
800 Free Relay (Finals only)
The relay team of Stevenson, Genderson, Tramack, and Intihar shaved over 18 seconds off of their entry mark to finish second with a time of 7:21.23 while Dagg, Katt, Dingwerth, and Anderson dropped over 16 seconds for an eighth place time. On the men's side, Massari, Cosgrove, Sokolowski, and Glass dropped nearly 10 seconds to finish eighth overall.
