WASHINGTON, D.C. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team placed third at a quad meet, the Lindsey Ferris Invitational, hosted by George Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Penn claimed the team title with a 194.925 and was followed by the host Colonials (194.250), W&M (189.950) and Cornell (188.825).
Caroline Blatchford and
Keaghan Schafer highlighted the Tribe's individual performances, as Blatchford placed second in all-around (38.500) while Schafer finished fourth on floor (9.750).
Event Highlights
Vault, 47.800 – Blatchford and
Catherine Bare led the Tribe on vault with a pair of 9.600s, while
Sarah Kuper contributed to the team's score with a 9.575.
Bars, 47.250 – Kuper and Blatchford led the way on bars with a 9.725 and a 9.675, respectively.
Beam, 46.925 – Blatchford earned W&M's top score on beam with a 9.750 and tied for seventh. Schafer also posted a top-10 effort with a career-high 9.700.
Floor, 47.975 – Schafer also recorded a career-high on floor (9.750) en route to placing fourth in the event, while
Chloe Campbell tied for seventh with a 9.675.
All-Around – Blatchford was the Tribe's lone all-arounder and posted her best score of the season (38.500) with her second-place finish.
