WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's soccer once against hits the road to take on a Patriot League opponent as it travels to Army on Friday, Sept. 3. The match carries a 6 p.m. start time from West Post and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

- The Tribe travels to its second Patriot League opponent of the year when it heads to Army. W&M posted a 2-1 win over American in the season-opener. Junior
Kayleigh Shackford converted a PK in the first half, and senior
Caroline Monahan tallied the game-winner in the 78th minute. The Green and Gold is 7-0-1 all-time against the Patriot League. W&M and Army have met on just one other occasion with the Tribe picking up a 5-0 win in 1984.
- Sophomore goalkeeper
Grace Lemley started the Tribe's first four games of the 2021 season and, dating back to last spring, has started each of the program's last five contests. She turned an impressive five-save performance in a 1-0 setback at Virginia Tech on Aug. 22. On the year, Lemley ranks fourth in the CAA in saves (13) and seventh in save percentage (.650) and goals against average (1.79).
- The Tribe roster consists mainly of freshmen and sophomores with 18 of the 30 student-athletes coming from those two classes. In total 14 of those 18 have seen game action in 2021, including six that have earned starts. In total, seven of W&M's 10 freshmen have seen action through the opening four matches, including
Riley Friesen who has started all four contests along the back line.
- The Tribe has enjoyed great success in the classroom recently. As a team, W&M sports a 3.53 cumulative GPA, following a 3.6 semester in the spring. In total, 30 W&M student-athletes earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll distinction last year and 23 received W&M Provost Award honors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
