CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team earned season highs in three events but fell at North Carolina, 196.150-190.800, on Saturday evening.
In addition to recording season bests on vault, bars and floor,
Katie Waldman highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by tying for second on bars (9.800) and placing third in all-around (38.575).
Event Highlights
Vault, 48.325 – W&M equaled its best score of the season on vault, as Waldman and
Mary Graceyn Gordon led the way with a pair of 9.750s. The score marked a season high for both gymnasts.
Bars, 46.675 – Waldman's season-high 9.800 was the Tribe's top mark on bars and placed second among all the competitors, as W&M tallied its best score of the season in the event. Gordon also performed well and registered a season-high 9.725.
Beam, 47.300 –
Chloe Campbell and
Emma Wiley were the Tribe's top two scorers on beam and earned a 9.700 and a 9.675, respectively. Both scores were career highs.
Floor, 48.500 – W&M recorded is best score of the season on floor and was led by Waldman (9.775, season high), Campbell (9.750, career high) and Gordon (9.700).
All-Around – In addition to Waldman's third-place finish in all-around, Gordon also competed in all four events and totaled a 38.300.
