Cara Menges and sophomore
Maddie George were named to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship All-Tournament Team on Sunday. The Tribe as one of two semifinal-qualifiers earned two spots on the team, the runner-up team earned three and the champions earned three.
Menges has served as team captain for her third consecutive season and started every match for two years in a row as a midfielder. Menges ranks third nationally with six defensive saves. Her defensive saves this season rank as the 10th-best single-season total in W&M history, while her nine career defensive stops are also 10th. Menges topped the Tribe with five assists this season. The Richmond Va., native was named to the All-CAA First Team for her second consecutive year in a row.
Goalkeeper
Maddie George ended the season with a career-high of 10 saves in the semifinals vs. Delaware. She played in 14 matches for W&M this season and started in the wins over Hofstra and Northeastern. In her first start of the season, she tallied a career-high nine saves in a 2-0 setback at No. 12 Liberty on Sept. 19. In W&M's shootout win over Hofstra, George denied three Pride tries to lead the Tribe to the 3-2 win. She ranks eighth in the CAA and goals-against average at 2.41 with 32 saves.
