RICHMOND, Va. - William & Mary field hockey junior
Josie Mae Gruendel was named to the All-CAA Second Team, the league announced on Thursday.

Gruendel started all 17 matches for the Tribe in 2025. She topped the Green and Gold with nine points on four goals and an assist. Gruendel finished the season ranked 15th in the CAA in goals.

In the Tribe's opening win of the season over defending Patriot League Champion Lafayette, Gruendel scored twice in the final 2:04 to lift W&M to victory. Both goals came off penalty corners, including the game-winner with just 22 seconds remaining. It was her first career game-winning goal.

Gruendel also tallied goals at Delaware and against Davidson. In the match-up with the Wildcats, the junior forward tallied a goal and an assist as the Tribe scored a season-high four goals.

As a freshman in 2022, Gruendel was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. She was a Preseason All-CAA selection in each of the last two campaigns.
