COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Five William & Mary field hockey student-athletes were named National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholars of Distinction, the organization announced on Friday.

Amelia Morgan and
Eme Schmittel, junior
Bridget Lawn, sophomore
Ava Rossman, and freshman
Gracie Clawson earned the honor for the first times in their careers. It mark the second most Scholars of Distinction in a single season for the Tribe behind only the 2022 squad which had six.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year. In total, 341 Division I student-athletes across the country received the honor.Â
