Cara Menges was named to the All-South Region Second Team on Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The NFHCA team is voted and nominated on by Division 1 coaches from across the nation. This is the 10th season in a row that W&M has had at least one athlete honored.
Menges was elected team captain for the third year in a row, leading W&M to the No. 3 seed in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Semifinals. The Richmond, Va., native started every match she's played in this season. The midfielder ranked third nationally with eight defensive saves, three of which were against CAA opponents Hofstra, Delaware, and Northeastern. Menges ranked 10th in the CAA with four assists on the year. Menges made the All-CAA First Team for the second year in a row. She was also named to the NFHCA Senior Team earlier this month. Menges was previously named to the All-South Region Second Team in 2021.
