WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After opening CAA play with two road matches, William & Mary women's soccer returns home for a pair of contests during Homecoming Week. The Tribe welcomes UNCW to Martin Family Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m., before hosting Drexel on Sunday, Oct. 10, at noon.
All Tribe home matches and all contests in CAA play will be streamed on FloFC.

- The Tribe sits a 3-6 overall and 1-1 in CAA play after dropping a road game at Towson, 3-0, on Oct. 3. W&M opened CAA play with a thrilling 1-0 win at Charleston on Sept. 26 to improve to 21-6-2 in CAA openers since 1993.
- The Tribe leads the all-time series with UNCW, 24-5-1, but the Seahawks have won the last three meetings. Last season, UNCW tallied a 1-0 victory despite the Tribe holding a 15-6 advantage in shots. The last Tribe win in the series came in Wilmington, 2-1, in 2017.
- UNCW enters Thursday's match-up at 6-1-1, including a 2-0 mark in CAA play. The Seahawks are unbeaten in their last seven matches and have won each of their last two contests against CAA competition. UNCW downed Elon, 2-1, on Sept. 26, and topped Northeastern, 2-0, on Oct. 3. Jordan Faveri leads UNCW in scoring with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Audrey Harding and Mogran Nanni have four and three goals, respectively. Kaylie Bierman has played every minute in goal for UNCW and owns an impressive 0.61 GAA with 36 saves and four shutouts.
- The Tribe leads the all-time series with Drexel at 16-3. In the last meeting in 2019, W&M topped the Dragons, 2-1, in overtime in Philadelphia. The last time the teams squared off in Williamsburg, the Green and Gold notched a 2-0 win in 2018.
- Drexel sits at 5-4-1 on the year and enters the weekend 1-1 in CAA play. The Dragons split their opening two CAA games with a 1-0 setback at home vs. JMU on Sept. 26 and a 1-0 win at Charleston on Oct. 3. Delaney Lappin leads the Dragons with seven points on three goals and an assist. Miyuki Schoyen has started all 10 matches for Drexel and owns a goals against average of 1.15 with 40 saves and three shutouts.

Riley Friesen was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Sept. 27. The rookie defender has started all nine matches and tops the Tribe having played 808 of 815 total minutes this season. Friesen helped the Tribe defense hold CofC to just a 20% shooting accuracy with just three of 15 shots finding the target.

Addie Puskar was named the W&M Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery. The goal against Charleston was her second career goal. Puskar has started all eight matches for W&M and has been effective at both defender and forward.

Kayleigh Shackford leads the Tribe in goals with two. Along with her game-winner vs. ECU, she converted a penalty kick in the Tribe's season-opening win at American.
- The Tribe roster consists mainly of freshmen and sophomores with 18 of the 30 student-athletes coming from those two classes. In total 15 of those 18 have seen game action in 2021, including nine that have earned starts. In total, eight of W&M's 10 freshmen have seen action.
- W&M alumna Kathy Carter '91 was recently elevated to chief executive of the Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. She previously served as the Chief Revenue Officer of LA28 since 2018. Carter, who earned her degree in government, was a standout goalie for the Tribe from 1987-90 and still holds the school record of a 0.78 goals-against-average.
- The Tribe has enjoyed great success in the classroom recently. As a team, W&M sports a 3.53 cumulative GPA, following a 3.6 semester in the spring. In total, 30 W&M student-athletes earned CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll distinction last year and 23 received W&M Provost Award honors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Tribe alum and two-time World Cup winner Jill Ellis '88 was named the president of the latest National Women's Soccer League expansion team in San Diego in June. The team will start play in NWSL beginning in the Spring of 2022.
