WEST POINT, N.Y. — The William & Mary women's soccer team was edged at Army, 3-2, on Thursday evening.

W&M (0-1-1) outshot the Black Knights, 18-9, which included a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal.

The Tribe also tallied nine of the contest's 11 corner kicks.

Army (1-2) got on the scoreboard first when Kamryn McWhinney struck paydirt in the 12th minute, and neither team scored during the remainder of the opening half.

Despite trailing by a goal at the intermission, W&M outshot Army, 8-5, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal, during the opening 45 minutes.

Abbey evened the count at 1-1 just 2:03 into the second stanza on a penalty kick, but just 36 seconds later Army's Ailyn Rowe answered with a goal off assists from Bella Conti and Sophia Henry.

The Black Knights extended the margin to 3-1 with McWhinney's second goal in the 81st minute before Wilson tacked on the final score in the final minute.
