Looking back on my four years at William & Mary I know that I will cherish all of the memories that I made. I have learned so much throughout my four years, which I know I will put into use later in life. To my amazing teammates that I have had throughout the years, you have truly made my experience at William & Mary one for the books. You all have been by my side through all the ups and downs and I am so thankful. Not only have you all helped me learn so many important lessons, the women who were in the classes above me and graduated before me, you have been such amazing role models and have given me something to look up to. In addition, some life changing advice whenever I felt like I was stuck not knowing what to do.

When I was in high school my dream had always been to compete in college for gymnastics. I never really understood what it meant until I realized that I had worn my leotard for the last time. I realized it was so much more than trying to get a high score for the team or getting the nervous butterflies before competing. It taught me how to be a part of something bigger than the individual in a sport. It taught me how to be a leader within a team to represent something more than just a single sport. I also learned that I was a part of something that was even larger than just my sport. Being able to compete for the Tribe at William & Mary was truly an honor. William & Mary fostered an environment that allowed me to succeed in not only my sport but also in academics.

To wrap it up, thank you so much to everyone who makes athletics at William & Mary possible. I am so thankful for the opportunity that you gave me and for believing in me. I truly had a life changing experience at William & Mary. I cannot wait to see what lies in the future for William & Mary athletics and I am ready to be a proud alumna.

Thank you,
Elizabeth Snoddy – Women's Gymnastics
