W&M Women's Tennis Downs Dartmouth, 5-2, for Third-Straight

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis cruised to a convincing 5-1 win over Dartmouth on Saturday morning at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. The Tribe win improves its record to 3-0 on the year.
 
How It Happened
- The Tribe claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Seniors Natalia Perry and Rosie Cheng dominated at No. 2 in a convincing 6-0 win over Chidimma Okpara and Ashley Hess.
- At No. 3, senior Charlotte Madson and freshman Elisa Van Meeteren won the tiebreak 7-4, winning the match 7-6 and claiming the doubles point for the Tribe.
- In singles play, Cheng cruised to a quick 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3, increasing the Tribe's lead to 2-0.
- At No. 2, Mila Saric earned a hard fought 7-5, 6-3 win to increase the Tribe lead to 3-0.
- Shortly thereafter, Vitoria Okuyama (No. 4) and Van Meeteren (No.6) won within seconds of each other – 7-6, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-4 respectively – to give the Tribe the win for the day.
- Dartmouth picked up its first win at No. 5, with Chidimma Okpara defeating the Tribe's Madson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
- The final match, at No. 1, went down to tiebreak before Dartmouth claimed the point.  Nicole Conard won the first set, 7-6, before Perry came back to take the second, 7-5.  In the tiebreak, Perry was forced to retire trailing 7-5, giving the Big Green the point and setting the final score at 5-2 in favor of W&M.

- The Tribe ends its homestand tomorrow when it wraps up the weekend against Wake Forest on Sunday.
