CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The William & Mary women's gymnastics team opened its season with a 194.775-190.425 setback at North Carolina.
Katie Waldman highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by placing second in all-around (38.225) and on beam (9.800, career high), while she finished third on vault (9.800). Freshman
Brianna Greenlow also performed well in her collegiate debut and placed third in all-around (38.175) and on beam (9.750).
Event Highlights
Vault, 48.325 – Waldman's third-place effort on vault (9.800) led W&M, while
Erika Marr also came up big with a 9.750.
Bars, 47.675 –
Evan Pakshong posted the Tribe's top score on bars (9.775) and narrowly missed out on a top-three finish, while
Taylor White recorded a 9.725.
Beam, 48.100 – Tribe gymnasts earned three of the top four scores on beam, as Waldman (9.800), Greenlow (9.750) and
Caroline Caponi (9.700) all performed well in the event. Waldman's score was a career high.
Floor, 46.325 – Waldman and
Elizabeth Snoddy posted W&M's best efforts on floor and tied for fourth with a 9.725.
All-Around – Waldman (38.225) and Greenlow (38.175) were the Tribe's two all-arounders and placed second and third, respectively.
