WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team concluded its regular season slate with an exciting 192.450-191.900 victory against Penn on Senior Night at Kaplan Arena on Friday evening.
W&M posted the top score in three of the four events en route to claiming the win versus its conference opponent.
Highlighting the Tribe's individual efforts were three gymnasts who secured event titles –
Katie Webber (vault, 9.750),
Katie Waldman (bars, 9.800) and
Samantha Sakti (floor, 9.775).
Event Highlights
Vault, 48.175 – Webber earned the vault title with a 9.750, while Sakti nearly matched that effort with a 9.725 to place second.
Bars, 48.200 – W&M gymnasts posted the top three scores on bars, as Waldman won with a season-high equaling 9.800 and
Evan Pakshong and
Erika Marr tied for second with a pair of 9.775's. Marr's performance represented a season-best score in the event.
Beam, 47.625 – Sakti recorded the Tribe's best effort on beam and placed third with a 9.725.
Floor, 48.450 – Tribe gymnasts claimed the top two spots on floor, as Sakti won the event with a 9.775 and
Aaliyah Kerr tied for second with a 9.725.
Next Up
With the regular season complete, the Tribe will compete for the Eastern College Athletic Conference title at the league championship meet hosted by Cornell next Saturday at noon.
