WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 8, 2019) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team posted a season-high score on vault but placed fourth at a quad meet hosted by George Washington on Friday evening.
The host Colonials won the team title with a 195.400 and were followed by New Hampshire (194.925), Yale (194.05) and W&M (189.925).
Junior
Caroline Caponi highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by placing second in all-around with a season-high 38.600.
Junior Erica Marr also posted a top-three finish by tying for third on vault with a season-best 9.750.
Event Highlights
Vault, 48.250 – Marr's season-high score helped W&M record its best score of the season on vault, while Caponi, senior
Madison Dwyer, junior
Taylor White and freshman
Samantha Sakti all posted a 9.625.
Bars, 46.850 – Junior
Evan Pakshong was the Tribe's top scorer on bars with a 9.750, while Caponi (9.675) and White (9.650) also contributed to the team total.
Beam, 46.875 – Caponi led the way on beam with a 9.650, while Dwyer recorded the team's second-best mark with a 9.500.
Floor, 47.950 – Sakti and senior
Aaliyah Kerr were W&M's top two scorers on floor with a 9.775 and a 9.750, respectively.
All-Around – In addition to Caponi's second-place finish in all-around, White competed in all four events and posted a 36.750.

W&M will return to action when it competes at a tri-meet hosted by West Chester next Friday.
