WEST CHESTER, Pa. (Feb. 15, 2019) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team posted its second-best score of the season en route to placing second at a tri-meet hosted West Chester on Friday evening.
 
WCU edged the Tribe, 192.675-192.525, to claim the team title, while Rhode Island College placed third with a 182.825.
 
W&M earned the meet's top scores on vault (48.175) and floor (48.925), as the impressive floor total represents a season high and ranks just outside the program's all-time top-10 list.
 
Samantha Sakti highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by winning the vault title (9.750), tying for first on beam (9.800) with teammate Evan Pakshong, and tying for first on floor (9.850). Caroline Caponi posted the meet's top all-around score (38.150).
 
Event Highlights
Vault, 48.175 – Sakti (9.750) and Erika Marr (9.700) recorded the top two performances on vault to help W&M tally its second-best score of the season in the event. Caponi and Katie Webber also came up big with a 9.625 and a 9.600, respectively.
 
Bars, 48.025 – Pakshong led the Tribe on bars with a 9.750 to place second, while Taylor White tied for third with a 9.700, which equaled her season high.

Beam, 47.400 – Pakshong and Sakti tied for the beam title with a 9.800, as the impressive score set a season best for Pakshong.  
 
Floor, 48.925 – Sakti's winning performance on floor (9.850) highlighted a number of impressive efforts by W&M gymnasts in the event, as White equaled a career high (9.825) and Aaliyah Kerr posted a 9.775.

All-Around – Caponi won the all-around title with a 38.150, while White tied for second with a 37.950.
