BLACKSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Atlantic Region Championship on Sunday.
After picking up opening round wins on Saturday, seniors
Natalia Perry and
Rosie Cheng and sophomore
Mila Saric dropped second-round matches in the singles championship. Cheng, who was seeded No. 16, was edged by Virginia's Camille Favero in a pair of close sets, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
ODU's Yulia Starodubsteva, who was the event's No. 10 seed, snapped Saric's five-match win streak, 6-3, 6-2, on Sunday. The Tribe sophomore is a team-best 6-2 in dual-match play.
Perry, who was seeded No. 15, dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Marshall's Anna Smith.
Junior
Vitoria Okuyama, who won two matches to earn a spot in the main draw earlier in the tournament, picked up her fifth win of the fall campaign in the consolation draw. Okuyama topped Liberty's Micaela Ode, 7-5, 6-4.
