The William & Mary women's swimming team continued to see new leaders emerge on Saturday, despite suffering a 169-125 setback at the hands of Towson. The Tribe won five events, including the final relay, but are 0-3 in the early going, while the Tigers improved to 4-3 overall, and 1-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association.
How it Happened
- In addition to its five wins, W&M also took second in seven more events, but couldn't overcome Towson's 32-point lead after the two diving events.
- Junior
Megan Bull (Hillsborough, N.J.) continued the strong start to her year with a win in the 1,000 free, at 10:20.07.
- Sophomore
Missy Cundiff (Leesburg, Va.) remained undefeated at the 50 free, hitting the wall in 23.36 seconds.
- Freshman
Elizabeth Intihar (Columbus, Ohio) picked up her first collegiate victory in the 500 free, timing 5:05.85 to finish just ahead of Bull in second place.
- Senior
Julia Bland (Sea Girt, N.J.) moved into the win column for the first time this season as well, when she covered the 200 IM in 2:08.76.
- The Tribe won the final event of the day, the 400 free relay, in 3:32.61.
Inez Olszewski (New York, N.Y.) led off the winning team, before giving way to
Katie Stevenson (Wilton, Conn.),
Cundiff, and Bull in turn.

William & Mary is back in action next week with three more chances at a win at the CAA Pod Meet in Harrisonburg, Va. The Tribe will be joined by James Madison, UNCW, and Delaware in the two-day meet that runs on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2-3, with action starting both days at 10 a.m.
