WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary baseball team looks to snap a three-game skid in a key Colonial Athletic Association home against Hofstra. The conference set opens on Friday, April 27 at 6 pm, resumes on Saturday, April 28 at 4 pm and caps on Sunday, April 29 at 1 pm.

W&M News and Notes
• W&M and Hofstra will duel for the 46
th-48
th time in series history. The Green and Gold commands a 30-15 all-time series lead against the Pride. Last year, the Tribe pulled out a three-game sweep at Hofstra by a total of just five runs. The sweep advanced W&M to a seven-game winning streak vs. Hofstra.
• Inclement weather forced the Tribe to take a break from mid-week action for the second time this year. A home matchup with in-state rival with Richmond (April 24) was cancelled due to constant downpour of rain in the local area. During the week of March 19, W&M had two abort two mid-week games, because of a forecast of a wintery mix. A trip to Commonwealth foe Virginia Tech on May 15
th is the remaining mid-week game on the schedule.
• After this weekend, the Tribe closes out the regular season with seven out of 10 games on the road. It's the most extensive road stretch of the season for the Green and Gold. Of the 41 games played so far, 23 (12-11) of them were held in Plumeri Park, including three five-game homestands.
•Sophomore
Brandon Raquet found his groove last week as he batted .417 (5-for-12) with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. The outfielder form Boalsburg, Pa., owned a .533 on base percentage and .750 slugging percentage. Majority of his production occurred against Norfolk State on April 17. He tagged the Spartans with a double, triple and three RBI.
• Rookie
Jacob Haney pitched lights out in his two appearances out of the bullpen last week. Haney combined for six shutout innings of one-hit ball and saved the game vs. NSU. He also held opponents to a .056 batting average, tallied five strikeouts and allowed just one walk. Against the Spartans, Haney tossed three straight 1-2-3 frames and also struck out the side once.
• Senior
Charlie Fletcher increased his Tribe all-time appearance record to 98 following his relief inning on Saturday. He now takes over the fourth spot in the CAA record books. Fletcher is also tied for fourth in the nation among active career leaders. For the season, he paces the conference with 22 games in relief, holding a three-game advantage.
• As a whole, the bullpen did an exceptional job at keeping the Tribe within reach over the last four games. The relievers yielded just an unearned run, allowed only four hits and totaled 13 strikeouts across 14.2 innings. The 'pen also held hitters to a .085 average.
• Senior CLASS Award candidate
Ryan Hall is streaking with a base hit in five consecutive games and reached safely stint of eight straight outings. The productivity increases his all-time W&M rankings to 10th in hits (228), fourth in doubles (55), seventh in walks (106) and sixth in games started (206). Additionally, Hall ties second in the CAA and 43rd in the NCAA with 14 doubles this year.
• Junior LHP
Bodie Sheehan is one of the best in the nation at finding the strike zone. The Virginia Beach, Va., product ranks 10th in the NCAA in walks allowed per nine innings (0.83) and 20th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.67). Sheehan is also second among CAA hurlers in innings pitched (65.0) and walks allowed (6).
• After back-to-back one-run games at Northeastern, the Tribe has played in 21 of these nail-biting affairs. The only problem is W&M is 7-14 in one-run decisions. It's most one-run games dating back to 2003 – the closest year was 2012 with 20. The Green and Gold has also played extra innings on seven occasions.
• Enough data has been gathered to determine that W&M performs best when ahead. The Tribe owns a record of 8-2 when scoring in the first inning and 13-5 when the squad tacks on the first run of a game. W&M is also 11-3 when leading after six innings. The Green and Gold has overcome a deficit on just two occasions.
• Four former Tribe players in the pros have received their minor-league assignments, three of them were drafted last year. After helping the rookie level Elizabethton Twins capture a league title last summer, Nick Brown '17 will start his second season pitching for the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Parent Club: Minnesota Twins). Third round draft pick Nick Raquet will hurl for the Hagerstown Suns (Parent Club: Washington Nationals), while fifth rounder Cullen Large was assigned to the Lansing Lugnuts (Parent Club: Toronto Blue Jays). Ryan Hissey, also a member of the Toronto Blue Jays, was recently assigned to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
