Former Tribe All-American Andrew Hoxie Wins Third-Straight MASL Championship with the Baltimore Blast

BALTIMORE, Md. – Former William & Mary men's soccer standout Andrew Hoxie helped the Baltimore Blast to the Major Arena Soccer League championship, winning the Ron Newman Cup over the weekend. It marked a third-straight MASL crown for Hoxie and the Blast as they defeated the Monterrey Flash in the title match on Sunday.
 
Hoxie scored the Blast's second goal in the 4-3 wins over Monterrey. The 2009 W&M graduate scored a pair of goals in Baltimore's four playoff matches. He helped the Blast to a 17-5 regular-season record and the top spot in the Eastern Division. Hoxie tallied 25 points on 16 goals and nine assists. Baltimore downed Syracuse in the divisional round of the playoffs, before knocking off Milwaukee in the conference championship, 10-6.
 
Hoxie helped the Blast to league championships in 2015-16 and 2016-17 as well. He totaled 20 points on 15 goals and five assists in his first season with Baltimore, before registering 23 points on 17 goals and six assists last season. In total, he has played seven seasons of professional indoor soccer, competing with the Rochester Lancers and the Wichita Wings before heading to Baltimore. Over his seven seasons, he has tallied 179 points on 115 goals and 64 assists.
 
Hoxie was drafted in the third round (37th overall) of the 2010 MLS Super Draft by the San Jose Earthquakes following a stellar career on the pitch for the Tribe. He spent professional seasons in the USL Pro League with the Rochester Rhinos, Harrisburg City Islanders and the Orange County Blues.
 
As a senior in 2009, Hoxie enjoyed his best season with the Tribe tallying 32 points on 10 goals and 12 assists, earning NSCAA All-America honors. He was the CAA Player of the Year in 2009 and was a three-time All-CAA selection. Hoxie ranks fifth in W&M history in game-winning goals (11), seventh in points (92), ninth in goals (35) and 10th in assists (22).
