WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's tennis team moved back in the national top 50 in the latest Oracle/ITA College Division I Team Rankings released on Tuesday. The Tribe came in at No. 48 in the national ranking for the second time in the last three weeks.
The Tribe sits at 8-6 on the year following a split of matches at home on March 3-4. The Green and Gold downed George Washington, 4-3, before suffering a 4-3 setback to then-No. 28-ranked and current No. 40 Kansas State the following day. All six W&M setbacks have come to teams currently in the national top 40, including No. 1 North Carolina, No. 7 Illinois, No. 17 Kansas, No. 20 Oregon, and No. 30 Tennessee.
Four matches on the Tribe schedule remain against nationally-ranked teams, including No. 16 Wake Forest (April 2), No. 26 Virginia (March 29), No. 29 Princeton (March 24), and No. 45 Old Dominion (April 13).
After a 12-day hiatus, the Green and Gold returns to action, hosting Ivy League foe Yale on Friday, March 16. The contest carries a 6:30 p.m., start time from the McCormack-Naglesen Tennis Center. Fans can watch the action online via PlaySight at
