Former Women's Soccer Standout Kathy Carter '91 Named Chief Revenue Officer of LA28

LOS ANGELES – Former Tribe women's soccer standout Kathy Carter '91 has been named the Chief Revenue Officer of Los Angeles 2028, the organization announced yesterday.

She is now in charge of funding the $5 billion-plus budget through sponsorship, consumer products, tickets, and hospitality for the 2028 Olympics in LA. With this venture, Carter is also now the CEO of the US Olympic and Paralympic Properties. This venture was created by LA28 and the US Olympic Committee to control all domestic Olympic rights from 2021 through 2028.

Previously, Carter spent eight years as president of Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the company that holds the U.S. Soccer Federation and Major League Soccer commercial portfolio. A founding MLS executive in the 1990s, Carter left that role in April after finishing second in the hotly contested race for U.S. Soccer president.

Carter was a standout goalie for the Tribe from 1987-90. She appeared in 72 matches and is still tied for the school record of a 0.78 goals-against-average. Carter earned her degree in government from W&M in 1991.
