WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 17, 2015)—William and Mary standout Brittany Stover has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week after an outstanding performance in the Tribe's victory against Bridgeport last Saturday. It marks the fifth time she has garnered the distinction this season and the 12th time during the past two campaigns.
En route to earning the honor, Stover broke the school records in all-around (39.500) and on vault (9.950). In addition to winning both all-around and vault, she also claimed the bars title by earning the third-best score in school history (9.875). The New Albany, Ind., native also earned a career-high on floor 9.875.
Stover's impressive performances helped W&M record the fourth-best score in school history (195.000) and break the program's vault record (49.125). Additionally, the College earned the second-best scores in school history on both beam (48.900) and floor (49.225).
One of the ECAC's top gymnasts, Stover currently ranks first in the league in all-around (39.060) and on vault (9.875).
The Tribe will look to earn its second-consecutive ECAC title when it returns to action at the league championship hosted by Yale this Saturday.
