WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's soccer team opens a season-long five match road trip this weekend with a pair of matches. The Tribe travels to Drexel on Friday, Oct. 16, before heading to Delaware on Sunday, Oct. 18. Kickoffs are set for 7:30 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively.

Scouting the TribeWilliam & Mary (9-3-1, 3-1-0 CAA) hits the road for a season-long five-match road trip starting with a pair of matches at Drexel and Delaware this weekend. The Tribe is looking to move its winning streak to four matches after winning a pair of matches by a score of 1-0 over Charleston and UNCW last weekend, W&M has outscored opponents by a mark of 26-9. The attack has been balanced as well, as 11 different players have netted a goal. Senior
Samantha Cordum leads the team with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Classmate
Katie Johnston is second on the team with five goals, an assist and 11 points. Senior
Caroline Casey has started every match in goal for this season for the Tribe, while sophomore
Samantha Johnson has also seen time. Casey boasts a 0.68 goal-against-average with 62 saves, and six shutouts.
Scouting the DragonsDrexel (7-7-0, 1-4-0 CAA) looks to get back into the win column on Friday night as they host the Tribe. Last weekend, the Dragons fell at Delaware 1-0 after falling at James Madison on Oct. 4. Vanessa Kara leads the attack with eight goals, two assists, and 18 points. Madison Dunn is second on the team with three goals, one assist, and seven points, while Jacki Sieder leads the team with three assists. Kelsie Fye and Even Badana have split time in goal this season for Drexel. Badana has played nearly 1,000 minutes, with a 1.23 goals-against-average, 43 saves and three shutouts. Fye has played just 311 minutes with 1.44 goals-against-average, and 12 saves.
Scouting the Blue HensDelaware (6-6-2, 1-2-2 CAA) will look to move its unbeaten streak to three games this weekend, but will host Elon on Friday night, before playing host to W&M on Sunday. The Blue Hens picked up a 1-0 win over Drexel last weekend, after tying Towson on Sunday, Oct. 4. Natalie Zelenky leads the Blue Hens with nine goals, one assist, and 19 points. Riley Curtin is second on the team with two goals, a team-high five assists, and nine points, while Krista Trinidad is second on the team with three goals. Kailyn Rekos and Kelsey O'Donnell have split time in goal this year for Delaware. Rekos has started 12 matches with a 1.61 goals-against-average, 50 saves, and three shutouts. O'Donnell has made a pair of starts with a 1.80 goals-against-average and six saves.
Series HistoryThe Tribe and Drexel meet for the 15th time in series history on Friday night. W&M leads the all-time series by a 12-2 mark, but the teams split the two games a year ago, which were both played in Williamsburg. Drexel won the regular season match 3-2 in overtime, before W&M picked up a 2-1 victory in CAA Quarterfinals.
Emory Camper accounted for three of the four goals the Tribe scored in the two matches, while
Leci Irvin scored the game-tying goal in the quarterfinals.
W&M will then head to Delaware for the 17th time meeting all-time in the series on Sunday afternoon. The Tribe leads the all-time series by a 11-2-3 mark, which includes a 3-1 victory in Williamsburg a season ago.
Anna Madden scored a pair of goals in the first nine minutes of the match, and Camper added another to help the Tribe to victory.

Samantha Cordum netted her first career hat trick against Northeastern on Sunday afternoon. She scored goals in the 15th, 60th, and 87th minutes to help the Tribe to a 3-1 victory.
D, D, DefenseThe Tribe has done a very good job of team defending this season, and it has shown as the Green and Gold has only allowed nine goals this season. The Tribe has fours team saves, which were credited to

Nothing But CLASSSenior
Caroline Casey was named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award. Casey has shined on and off of the field during her time with the Tribe. She is involved in multiple community-based activities and also made a medical relief trip to Nicaragua in the winter of 2014. The Chesapeake, Virginia native thrives in the classroom, while also being a two-time captain and All-CAA player.
Balanced AttackEleven different players have already netted goals this season for the Green and Gold, which matches last year's total of 11 different players to score. Last weekend, junior
Clara Logsdon scored her first marker of the season in the match against Hofstra.
National Recognition Senior
Nicole Baxter was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week for the week of Aug. 24.Baxter started in played all 90 minutes in the Tribe's season opening 5-1 victory over Seton Hall on Friday afternoon. On Sunday as the Tribe knocked off its first ranked team since 2011, Baxter played a hand in all three goals. She assisted on sophomore
Rachel Moore's game-winning goal in the ninth minute, scored on a penalty kick in the 45th minute, and assisted on senior
Samantha Cordum's goal in the 79th minute.
Weekly AwardsCaroline Casey was named CAA Player of the week for the second time this season earlier this week. She recorded a pair of shutouts in the Tribe's two conference victories over Charleston and UNCW. She recorded eight saves for the weekend, and faced 15 shots in Sunday's victory.
For the second straight week, W&M had a player of the week earn CAA Player of the Week honor for Sept. 14. This time senior goalkeeper
Caroline Casey was earned the honor. The senior recorded five saves and helped preserve her shutout in the final moments of the Old Dominion match on Friday night. However, her best match came on Sunday as she turned away a season-high tying seven shots. She helped the Tribe defense withstand a final minute stretch of three shots and two corner kicks in the final minute.

Katie Johnston was named the CAA Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 7. played 58 minutes and fired three shots, one on goal, in the Tribe's 1-1 draw against Wake Forest on Friday night. Johnston saved her best for Sunday afternoon, scoring a pair of goals in W&M's 3-0 win at N.C. State. She scored the game-winning goal in the 22nd minute. The forward added the exclamation point in the 71st minute when she registered her second tally of the match. She finished the day with a match-high five shots.
Johnston is the second Tribe player to earn a weekly award as freshman
Mackenzie Kober was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after she scored a goal and had an assist in her first collegiate weekend scoring a goal and registering an assist in the Tribe's 5-1 victory over Seton Hall.
Movin' on UpSenior goalkeeper
Caroline Casey has started every game in goal of her Tribe career, and she is beginning to climb up the W&M record book. She is now fifth all-time with 24 career shutouts after her two last weekend. Casey is currently in third place all-time with 279 saves. She needs nine saves to move into second place.
Connect FourThe Tribe was selected to finish fourth in annual CAA Preseason Poll voted on by the league's 10 head coaches. Back-to-back defending champion Northeastern was selected to repeat as champion, while Hofstra (second) and James Madison third were picked ahead of the Tribe. Despite the fourth place prediction, the voting was very close, and W&M was just 12 points behind first-place Hofstra.

What's AheadThe Tribe's five match road trip continues with a pair of matches next weekend. The Tribe takes on Towson on Friday, Oct. 23, before heading to James Madison on Sunday, Oct. 25. Kickoffs are set for 2 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively. The Tribe's final match of the regular season would be the makeup of the Elon match from Oct. 2. No date has been announced for that match as of now.
