The William and Mary women's track and field team added another individual title to its haul Saturday at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, finishing in a tie for second overall. Seeded fifth coming into the weekend, the Tribe improved 42 points over predicted, best in the league, and finished just 20 points behind Delaware and in a tie with Northeastern.

Ashley Woodards (Franklinville, N.J.) won her first CAA title with a lifetime-best 1:01.78 performance. It is the first championship in the 400m hurdles for a Tribe runner since
Kim Baumbach '91 won the very first CAA meet in 1990. Woodards' time was the second-fastest ever run in school history, and qualified her for the ECAC Championships for the first time. Also in the event, junior
Brittany Biagi (Mullica Hill, N.J.) ran a lifetime-best 1:03.70 to take fourth place. Biagi improved six-tenths of a second to rank eighth in school history. Sophomore
Breanna Brukalo (Staten Island, N.Y.) was right behind her in 1:04.30, good for fifth place.
1,500m RunW&M also got an ECAC qualifier in the 1,500m run, where senior
Elaina Balouris (Allison Park, Pa.) earned her second silver medal over the weekend. Balouris broke the conference record in 4:24.27, a lifetime-best by nearly five seconds, and the 16th-fastest time in school history. More known for her long-distance expertise, Balouris now ranks fourth in school history in the event. Sophomore
Emily Stites (Wyoming, Ohio) took third in 4:34.08, a personal-best by 2.7 seconds, and classmate
Meghan McGovern (North Wales, Pa.) was fifth overall in 4:36.87.
Shot PutThe final throwing event of the day was the shot put, where sophomore
Rochelle Evans (Christiansburg, Va.) took second with an ECAC-qualifying put of 13.90m (45-7.25). It is tied for the 16th-best put in school history.
DiscusEvans was also runner-up in the discus earlier in the day, throwing 41.36m (135-8) to score eight more team points.
800m RunSophomore
Claire Tito (Richmond, Va.) added to the line of silver medals in the 800m run, where she finished second in a time of 2:11.78, just a half-second behind her best.
3,000m SteeplechaseA pair of rookies made the most of their debuts in the 3,000m steeplechase, scoring nine more points over predicted.
Molly Applegate (Toms River, N.J.) ran 11:12.82 for fourth place, and
Rachel Rabbitt (Yorktown, Va.) was fifth in 11:28.56. Applegate now ranks ninth all-time at W&M, and Rabbitt jumped onto the charts at 13th in school history.
RelaysW&M scored in both relays as well. In the 4x400m relay, the team of

Woodards, Tito, and
Maggie Gutierrez (Purcellville, Va.) combined to run 3:52.15 for fifth place. It was tied for the 10th-best time ever in school history. Earlier in the day,

Erika Garrison (Roanoke, Va.) ran 50.48 in the 4x100m relay, finishing seventh overall.
Triple JumpIn the triple jump, freshman
Susannah Philbrick (Salem, Ore.) placed 10th overall and improved to 10th in school history, hitting the sand at 11.18m (36-8.25).
HeptathlonRounding out the notables was junior
Grayson Llerandi (Ridgewood, N.J.), who completed her first-ever heptathlon with 3,884 points for 12th place. Llerandi completed the two-day trial by winning the 800m run in 2:22.20, and ranks 13th in school history in the event.
William and Mary will be back in action next weekend, competing at the UVA Challenge on Friday and Saturday, May 9-10.
