WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Former William and Mary women's tennis standout Megan Moulton-Levy captured her first career Women's Tennis Association (WTA) doubles championship on Sunday, winning the Monterrey Open presented by Afirme. After claiming 10 ITF Women's Circuit titles, she teamed with Darija Jurak of Croatia to win four matches at the WTA International in Monterrey, Mexico and claim the title.

Moulton-Levy and Jurak won their third match of the tournament in three sets in the championship on Sunday. The pair, which was seeded No. 3 at the event, won the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5), over the top-seeded duo of Timea Babos of Hungary and Olga Govortsova of Belarus. Babos and Govortsova rallied with a 6-3 win in the second set, but in the third, Moulton-Levy and Jurak outlasted their counterparts in a super tiebreaker, 11-9.

The former Tribe All-American is currently ranked No. 54 in the world doubles rankings, and she is the sixth-highest ranked American. She owns a career-best world doubles ranking of No. 50, which came in July of 2013. Moulton-Levy has played in each of the last seven Grand Slam Championships in doubles, including the first Grand Slam event of the 2014 at the Australian Open.
