Pritchard and Stover Earn ECAC Honors

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 25, 2013)—After posting outstanding seasons, William and Mary standout gymnasts Jessica Pritchard and Brittany Stover have been selected as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Gymnast of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively.

Pritchard garnered the league's top honor after finishing the regular season ranked second on bars (9.785), third in all-around (38.600) and floor (9.805) and seventh on beam (9.715). Her top all-around scores of the season included a 39.025, a 39.000 and a 38.900 twice. Her impressive score of 39.025, which came in the victory against Yale, ranks tied for third all-time at W&M. En route to earning that mark, she posted a 9.850 on bars, which tied for the eighth-best mark in school history. Highlighting her performances at the ECAC Championship last weekend was a second-place showing on floor (9.875).

Stover was honored as the ECAC's top rookie after an outstanding season that included five league rookie of the week awards. One of the region's top gymnasts throughout the season, she entered last weekend's conference championship leading the ECAC on vault (9.805) while ranking second in all-around (38.680) and seventh on bars (9.745). Highlighting her performances during the regular season was a school-record mark of 39.150 in all-around in the win against Yale. She continued her impressive debut campaign at the ECAC Championship this past weekend by winning the all-around title (38.950).
