Tribe Women?s Soccer Adds Kellie Jenkins ?10 to Coaching Staff

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William and Mary Tribe women's soccer head coach John Daly announced on Friday that former Tribe standout Kellie Jenkins, a 2010 graduate of the College, will join W&M's coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2011 season.

On the hiring, Daly said, "I am delighted to announce that Kellie Jenkins will be joining the coaching staff as a volunteer coach. Prior to, and since, graduation, Kellie has coached at Lafayette High School and the Virginia Legacy."  Daly continued on to say, "Kellie has also been a counselor/coach at John Daly's Soccer Camp. Her ability to demonstrate skills, her knowledge of the program and her experience as a student-athlete at William and Mary combine to make her a very valuable addition to the coaching staff."

A prolific, goal-scoring forward during her career at the College, Jenkins totaled 16 goals and eight assists over her four years in Williamsburg.  Playing in 76 career matches, Jenkins had a knack to score a goal when it was needed most, tallying seven match-winners for the Green and Gold.

During her tenure at William and Mary, the women's soccer team made three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2006-2008.  Over the course of her four seasons on the pitch, the Tribe posted a record of 58-20-7 (.724), averaging an amazing 14.5 wins a year.

The William and Mary Tribe women's soccer team will begin the 2011 regular season on Friday, August 19, when the College will play host to St. John's.  The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg.
