Former Tribe Goalkeeper Enjoys Success Abroad

Williamsburg - Former Tribe All-American Adin Brown was named the Sunnmorsposten Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Brown earned the local newspaper yearly award after leading Aalesund FK to promotion into the Tippeligaen, the top division in Norway. Aalesund FK finished second in the Adeccoligaen in 2006 to earn promotion back into the top division after a one-year hiatus.

Brown was one of three finalists for the Adeccoligaen league player of the year. The Pleasant Hills, Calif., native was ranked as one of the top goalkeepers in the league and one of the best overall players in the value indexes throughout the season.

After being selected in the first round, third overall, in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the Colo-rado Rapids. He spent time with the Rapids, the Tampa Bay Mutiny and the New England Revolution during his five-year stint in the MLS. Brown made 83 career starts in the MLS with a goals against aver-age of 1.73 to go along with 15 shutouts and 396 saves. In 10 career playoff games, Brown posted five clean sheets and lowered his GAA to 0.66.

Brown has played the last twp seasons with Aalesund FK in Norway. During his first campaign, Aale-sund FK played in the Tippeligaen, before being relegated to the Adeccoligaen this season. During his professional career, Brown has spent time with both the U.S. Under-23 and full national teams.

During his Tribe career, Brown was a three-time All-American, earning first team accolades each of his final two seasons in 1998 and 1999. Brown was an All-CAA selection during his four years and earned the league's Rookie of the Year award in 1996. The two-time team captain led W&M to a pair of CAA Championships and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Brown holds W&M career goalkeeping records for saves (417), shutouts (25) and save percentage (.841). He also ranks second in career goals against average at 0.86. He also holds the single season marks for saves, shutouts and save percentage.
