CLERMONT, FL - Tribe All-East freshman
Dave Mock (Johnstown, PA) won the inaugural junior North America, Central America, and Caribbean (NACAC) Athletic Association Cross Country Championship today, held on the hilly 6,000m course at the National Training Center in Clermont, FL. Mock clocked a 19:51 for 6,000m to take a seven-second victory over runner-up Tim McLeod and led a dominating performance by the U. S. team as Americans swept the top-six positions to win the team title with 10 points, well ahead of second-place Puerto Rico (33). The field included 21 runners with three complete teams. Mock was selected to the U. S. team thanks to his eighth-place performance at the recent USA Junior National Cross Country Championships where his finish was just two spots shy of a qualification to the upcoming IAAF World Junior Championships where All-American
Christo Landry (Falls Church, VA) will represent the Tribe.
