Matthew Feinstein Named All-CAA

RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary graduate student Matthew Feinstein was selected to the All-CAA Second Team, the league announced on Thursday.
 
Feinstein is the first Tribe player since David Hicks in 2019 to be named to an All-CAA team.
 
The McLean, Va., native led the Tribe with a 72.69 stroke average, which was the third best in school history. He also topped the team in wins (623) and winning % (75.6). Feinstein posted 10 rounds of par or better during the season, which ranks seventh in school history.
 
During the fall, Feinstein won the VCU Shootout and in the process, was named the CAA Player of the Week. He birdied the final hole to win the event and shoot a program and tournament record 15-under 201. Feinstein also fired 18-hole (7-under 65) and 36-hole (10-under 134) school-record marks at the VCU Shootout.
 
Feinstein added a top-10 finished at the Wildcat Spring Invitational during the spring, shooting an even par 142 to place seventh. He capped his collegiate career with a 1-under 71 in the final round of the CAA Championship to earn a share of 18th place. In total, he had six top-20 finishes in 2022-23.
 
Feinstein wrapped up his career ranked among the Tribe's all-time leaders in stroke average (11th at 74.58), rounds played (sixth at 106) and rounds of par or better (ninth at 23).
 
As a team, the Tribe set a school record for scoring average at 292.24 by over a shot. During the fall, W&M established new school records for 18-hole (16-under), 36-hole (19-under) and 54-hole (21-under) scoring at the VCU Shootout. The Tribe closed out the season with a fourth-place showing at the CAA Championship behind the second-best 54-hole CAA Championship total in program history.
