FARMINGTON, Pa.—The William & Mary men's golf team put together three straight rounds in red figures to score its third consecutive top five finish, coming in fifth at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational hosted by West Virginia.

The Tribe posted 10-under total for the 54 holes at Nemacolin Resort's Mystic Rock course in Farmington, Pa., shooting scores of 287-286-281. The final round 7-under effort was the second best of the day behind host and team champion West Virginia. The Mountaineers posted 35-under overall to win by 18 over James Madison.

Every member of the Tribe lineup posted at least one round of par or better, with the 10-under team total tying for the fourth lowest team score in program history.

Vaughn McMeans of George Mason was the individual champion at 11-under.

The Green and Gold was led by a strong effort from two freshmen.

Talon Dingledine continued the stellar start to his college career, finishing T-6 at 6-under-par. Dingledine found red figures in all three rounds just like his team, shooting a bogey-free 69 in the first round Monday and then a 70 later in the day. The Chesterfield, Va. native signed for a 71 on Tuesday to register his third straight top 10 in his first three college events. He only made four bogeys over the entire tournament and has yet to shoot higher than 74 this year.

Fellow freshman Eli Felty owned the low round of the event for W&M, going bogey-free himself in the final round on Tuesday enroute to a four-under 68. Felty moved up 20 spots on the leaderboard thanks to the effort following a 2-over effort over the first 36 holes with scores of 74-72. He finished tied for 19th on the week.

Both Grady Williams and Matthew Monastero tied for 31st at 1-over thanks to consistent play. The duo each posted even-par rounds of 72 in the opening round with Williams shooting 71-74 over the final 36 holes. Monstero shot 73 and another 72 to close out his tournament.

Preston Burton rounded out the Tribe lineup at T-48. Burton's tournament was highlighted by a 2-under 70 in the final round Tuesday after posting 77-73 over the first two rounds.

Four individuals also represented the Tribe at the Shepherd's Rock Individual, also at Nemacolin. Luke Walmet led the effort, finishing T-13 at 7-over (76-71-76). Davis Adams had the low round of the individuals with a final round 69 on Tuesday after scores of 79-77 in the first two rounds to finish T-15. Matthew Guy (74-75-78) and James Gayle (78-77-73) finished T-18 and 22nd respectively.
