WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After opening its season with an impressive second-place finish at the Tribe Invitational last week, the William & Mary women's golf team will return to action when it competes at the Elon Invitational.
The two-day, 54-hole event will be played at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C. Action will get underway with 36 holes on Monday with the final round set for Tuesday.
In addition to W&M and Elon, the 15-team tournament will also include: The Citadel, North Carolina Central, Howard, Queens, Tennessee Tech, Wofford, North Carolina A&T, South Carolina Upstate, Presbyterian, Western Carolina, Winthrop, Coppin State and South Carolina State.

Strong Start
W&M matched the program's best finish at its home fall tournament with a second-place finish at last week's Tribe Invitational. The effort marked the second consecutive season in which W&M finished among the top three teams at the event. Led by Mandava's consistent play and fourth-place finish (+8, 224), four W&M standouts placed among the top 10. Osborne and Avallone tied for fifth with a 9-over 225, while Garnsey tied for eighth with a 10-over 226. In addition to posting the tournament's lowest team score of the final round (299, +11), W&M's 294 in the second round tied for the 10th-lowest mark in program history (to par score, +6). Additionally, its 594 ranked tied for the fifth lowest 36-hole score in program history (to par score, +18).
Returning to the Elon Invitational
The challenging par-71 layout designed by Donald Ross has played host every year since the Tribe began competing at the tournament in 2021. Led by
Faith Garcia's 16th-place finish last year, W&M finished ninth at the 14-team event in 2025.
