BURLINGTON, N.C.—Competing in just her second collegiate tournament, William & Mary women's golf standout freshman Abigail Avallone claimed a share of the individual title at the Elon Invitational to help lead the Tribe to a second-place finish at the 15-team tournament on Tuesday.

Avallone charged up the leaderboard during the final day with a bogey-free, 3-under 68 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a 3-under 210 (71-71-68) and tie with Elon's Lilli Downer. En route to posting the strong finish, the Bethesda, Md., native birdied two of the final three holes to secure a share of the individual title. Additionally, she finished the two-day tournament 5-under on the back nine after carding impressive scores of 33-35-34.
