WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary cross country continues its 2026 season Friday, competing at the Virginia Invitational at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va.
The men's 6K is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 9:30 a.m.
The Tribe enters its second meet of the season after sweeping the team titles at the Spider Alumni Open last weekend in Mechanicsville. The victories marked a successful debut for William & Mary Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Adam Smith, who guided both programs to wins in his first meet leading the Tribe.

-Â William & Mary swept the team titles at the season-opening Spider Alumni Open. The men edged Georgetown by one point, 33-34, to earn their first victory at the event since 2019, while the women scored 56 points to finish 15 points ahead of Georgetown and earn their first Spider Alumni Open title since 2016.

Hayes Trapp led the Tribe men with a runner-up finish in the 6K, posting a personal-best time of 18:19.0. Trapp's performance earned him CAA Men's Runner of the Week honors on Tuesday.
-Â Graduate transfer
Alex Jordan made an immediate impact in his William & Mary debut, placing fifth overall in a personal-best 18:29.6. Junior
Caleb Wilcox finished sixth in 18:36.7, while sophomore
Eli Phillips placed eighth in 18:37.8 to give the Tribe four runners among the top eight.

Nolan Yeagle rounded out the men's scoring five in his collegiate debut, finishing 12th in 18:50.0. All five of W&M's scorers placed among the top 12.
-Â On the women's side, junior
Molly Weithman paced the Green and Gold with a runner-up finish in the 4K, crossing the line in 14:00.4.

Abby Lane placed eighth in 14:36.2, while sophomore
Chloe Miller followed in 10th at 14:46.0. Freshman
Caroline Sapperstein finished 17th in her collegiate debut with a time of 14:58.1, and sophomore
Meghan Sullivan rounded out the scoring five in 19th at 15:02.3.
- The Tribe women placed five runners among the top 20 at the Spider Alumni Open. Senior
Paige Dumont also turned in a personal-best performance, finishing the 4K in 15:35.2.
