Taylor Sets School Record as Tribe Closes Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. — William & Mary track & field closed out competition at the Duke Invitational with a series of standout performances, highlighted by a school record and multiple top-10 marks in program history at Morris Williams Stadium.

Tia Taylor led the way for the Tribe, breaking the program record in the long jump with a mark of 6.08m (19-11.5) to finish seventh overall. Earlier in the weekend, Taylor also turned in a 14.09 performance in the 100m hurdles prelims, which ranks fourth all-time in school history, just behind her own personal-best mark.

In the women's 400m hurdles, Kennedy Reynolds recorded a personal-best time of 1:00.61, improving her standing at No. 3 all-time in program history.

On the distance side, Allison McDonald posted a personal-best time of 10:44.53 in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing eighth and moving to No. 6 on the all-time performers list at William & Mary.

Elaina Perkins added a strong performance in the javelin, finishing ninth with a season-best throw of 43.72m (143-5), which ranks No. 8 on the all-time performers list at William & Mary.

In the field events, Kerrigan Kimener placed third in the pole vault (Group B) with a personal-best clearance of 3.78m (12-4¾).

On the men's side, Raiden Lafortune placed sixth in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 63.46m (208-2), moving to No. 9 on the all-time performers list at William & Mary.

Jonathan Kumer turned in a strong effort in the 800m, placing sixth in 1:48.94.

Brendan DiStefano recorded a personal-best time of 3:49.23 in the 1500m.

Devin Roose recorded a personal-best mark of 7.05m (23-1¾) to place 13th in the long jump.

The Tribe also saw contributions across the roster, with several athletes recording season-best and personal-best performances to round out the weekend.

William & Mary will split squads next weekend, competing at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., and the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
